A Relaxing Weekend

Don't you just love the weekends where you have no plans?! This weekend Chris, Catch, my mom, and I enjoyed the beautiful weather. I was sick on Friday, so Chris had to feed Catch with a bottle before bed. Let me just tell you, Catch was not a happy camper! He uses me as a way to fall asleep and this threw things off a bit. However, we managed and it was good for him and us.

Chris said he heard Catch really laugh this weekend. I missed it though. :0( Catch is making all sorts of sounds and it so entertaining just to listen and watch all his facial expressions. I've heard him giggle, but I guess this was a real laugh. Hopefully, I'll hear it soon.

We took Catch to Chris's baseball game on Sunday and he enjoyed it for a bit. It was beautiful weather; in fact, it was a little too cool for Catch. I let him roll around on a blanket, but once I saw bugs on it, that was the end of that. I guess I'm still pretty paranoid. That probaby won't change much though. ;0)

Catch and me dancing around the living room. He absolutely loves for us to dance with him. It puts him to sleep every time. This time I actually wanted him to stay awake, but not a chance. He was out for a couple hours.

How cute is this onesie?!
Looks like he got Mama's wide-eyed look.
Poor baby!

Chris threw a sock to Catch, but he didn't catch it. ;0)

How adorable is this?! Catch has on his

More Firsts for Catch

Catch is getting too independent too quick! On our way home from daycare on Tuesday Catch's pacifier fell out of his mouth onto his chest and he managed to push it back into his mouth. I am so proud of him, but it made me realize how big he's getting. Before we know it he'll be crawling all over the place!

He also took his first nap in his crib tonight! It was 50 minutes long. Enough time for me to take a shower and iron my clothes for tomorrow. :0) Catch sleeps in a crib at daycare so it's really helping us transition him at home.

My little man's going to be a big boy before I know it!

him learn how to soothe himself back to sleep at night. :0)

Catch amazes me every day.

It seems like yesterday we were leaving the hospital with Catch. I remember asking the nurses if we could stay just one more night. They just laughed; I don't think they realized I was serious. We were so scared, yet here we are 3 months later. Still a little scared, but figuring out a little more every day. These past couple of weeks have been amazing. He is getting more control of his head, starting to look around, and rolling himself over on his side. He is also following the dogs and us as we walk by. He's a perceptive little one! Today was a really big day though. Chris gave him his baseball rattle and he shook it for a couple minutes. I was so amazed and proud that it made me cry! Now I know how my mom feels about me. She used to cry over the smallest things I did (well, she still does) and I thought she was just being dramatic. I completely understand the feeling.

5:30 am this morning - they were just gazing into each other's eyes.

Taking his afternoon nap on me.

Trying to grade a few papers while he naps.

August 22nd - Catch is 3 months old!

Catch loves sitting up and looking around

Tummy time!

Doing his thing - making Grandma laugh.
And yes, that's Chris's nerdy "The Rock"
blanket

He rolled himself over, lifted his head, and looked around.

Superman!

Shaking the rattle!

Look at that grip!

Catch and Gabriel finally meet!

We went to Dallas last weekend for our friends' baby's baptism. It was so wonderful seeing Paul and Enny and finally meeting Gabriel. He is so gorgeous and he has a face that girls are going to fall in love with. The whole week leading up to our trip I kept telling Catch that he was going to meet his "brotha from anotha motha". Catch did great! There were tons of people at the party and he just smiled, cooed, and giggled with everyone. In fact, I think he even flirted with a few women! ;0) The trip was perfect...except for the way home. This was our second road trip and Catch has had a perfect score until the ride home. He was not happy for some reason during the last part of the trip, and made sure we knew. Actually, it's my fault. He was sleeping but I just had to have a thin mint blizzard from Dairy Queen. So really, it's Oklahoma's fault. If they had Dairy Queens I wouldn't have to stop during road trips to Dallas. :0)

The dads holding their sons. How adorable do Catch
and Gabriel look in their matching onesies that say
Mr. Amazing?!?!

I just love this picture.

They seem a little preoccupied.

He really is Mr. Amazing! That's his superhero name.

There is a tradition where someone throws a bunch of coins
around the kids and all the quarters you grab will give you good luck

Free for all!!!

We managed to grab a few. Money for the piggy bank!

They are making such funny faces!

I had to keep getting on to Catch. He kept putting his
big feet in front of the camera.

Who knows!

Aunt Damia. Look at his itty, bitty feet!

The baptism wasn't too exciting for Catch.

He was lying on my chest and he nuzzled all the way
to here! He would have slept like this if I would have
kept him like this. Of course I didn't, but I had to get a
pic first. :0)
