The Rollercoaster Ride

You know that common expression, "Life is like a rollercoaster"? Well, let's just rephrase this - Life with a toddler is a rollercoaster. Now don't get me wrong, I love it, but sometimes I feel so helpless. Catcher started daycare again in mid-August and he was in the 1-year-old room. If you know our lil man, you know that he is one smart ball of energy with a little of his mom and dad's stubborness. He was being put in time out quite often, and finally they started putting him the 2-year-old room a little. Man, did he flourish! He was having so much fun and not getting into trouble, thanks to one of his favorite teachers, Brittany Morrow. Last week, he started teething again and couldn't stop whining. As well as that, he fell and got a big knot on his head, and bit a little girl on the cheek. They said he wasn't trying to be mean, and I honestly think he was biting because his teeth hurt. (He's done that to us a couple of times). Maybe, it's just the 2-year-old behavior hitting him a little early. :@ Thankfully, he's been whining a little less every day this week. Here's hoping for more laughs and less crying!

The Manley Men

Catch making his silly face.

Catcher the farmer. :0)
OU Party with Papa and Nana

Looks like they've all lost their minds!

Watch out! If you lie down, Catch thinks you're an extension of the floor.

Half time! Catch already knows the sounds of airplanes, so anytime he hears them, he points up.

Ready! Hut!

Catch thought this was the coolest thing ever!

He didn't want Chris to take him down.

How precious does he look?! Go Yankees!

Catch loves his potty seat, but not for that reason. He finds it entertaining to put his toys and sippy cups in there. Maybe one day...

And now we use it as a booster seat so he can sit with us. Such a big boy!

Classic Catch! He loves to play.

At the ball park watching Daddy.

One day they'll be playing together. :0)

Cousin J with Catch and Chris.

Leaving the ballpark, but guess what Catch saw?!

Catch heard some people clapping in the stands, so he joined in, of course!

Visiting Gammie. He gets so happy when he gets to sit like a big boy. He kept eating Cheerios. I'm pretty sure he had about 3 bowl fulls I don't know how he eats that much!

I really don't think it's gets any cuter.
GUESS WHAT CATCH IS DOING NOW!
  1. He points to the pantry now, because that's where the Cheez-Its and Cheerios are.
  2. When I ask him to go get his milk, he knows where he left it, and brings it back to the table.
  3. When he bumps something or I cut his nails too short, he says, "Ow." Chris and I couldn't help but giggle the first time he said it.
  4. When he hears a plane, he always points up to find it.
  5. He sleeps on a cot at daycare! How can he be that big already?!
  6. He waves hi and bye to everyone - like a real wave! Of course, he still blows kisses and says bye.
  7. When we tell him to be Sweet Catch, he gives us a hug.
  8. When I talk to him, it really does seem like he understands me. :0)
  9. He's still eating bananas. When we go to the grocery store we have to sneak the bananas into the cart. Is this normal?! ;0)
  10. He loves for Daddy to brush his teeth.
  11. He sleeps with his security blankie. When we ask him if he's ready for nite nite, he smiles, nods his head yes, grabs his blankie, and walks to his crib.
  12. Anytime he sees a dog or cat, he lies his head on them (that's his version of a hug).

Many more to come!

Friday, September 3, 2010

Well, it's me again! You may have forgotten about us, but we are still around. It's been a crazy month and I still have not perfected this new schedule, but honestly, who does with a 15-month old running around?! I have quite a few pics, so I'll catch you up along with the pics.

MONDAY EVENING

We went to the park this afternoon to play with Carter and Caroline. While we waited, Daddy and Catch looked at the planes. Catch usually points to the sky every time he hears a plane.

Once he can't see the plane, he always shrugs like he saying, "Where did they go?"

Catch saw Carter and Caroline, and started to scream with excitement.

Best friends meet! Catch ran all the way to greet Carter.

Let's play!

Carter's a smilin' fool now. I love it!

Time to hug! Carter really was enjoying it...I promise.

Watching Caroline up on the slide.

Play time with Daddy.

In the doghouse

Catch is always following Carter around. We talked about how Carter is going to be the mastermind behind all their sneaky adventures, but because Catch is so rambunctious, he'll always get the blame. :0) Chris said they're going to be Butch and Sundance.

Watching Caroline again. :0)

So I know that Catch is the bully in his daycare class, but I saw Carter take a few swings too. It was pretty funny though. They would randomly push each other, and then smile big.

This is the perfect depiction of their roles!

Caroline and Carter...too cute.

Last time I put Catch in the swing he didn't like it, but this time he was giggling and screaming so much. You can just see from his face how much he loved it.

He's gotta be thinkin' that this is the life!

Feeding the ducks, and Catch kept saying, "Quack, quack"

Carter loves his mama!

So I tried to get a family photo, but Caroline decided not to smile.

She thought it'd be funnier to go cross-eyed. It was hilarious!
Close up!

SUNDAY EVENING

Nana and Papa stopped by after church. It was Catch's naptime and apparently, Papa's too. :0)

Nana didn't want to put him in his crib. I was actually surprised that he fell asleep on her. Lately, the only way he'll sleep is in his crib. He was worn out from playing at Gammie's earlier.

Chris went to Tulsa Sunday morning to see some college buds, so Catch and I went to Gammie's for pancakes. They were deliciosa. Catch played with his stuffed animal dog from his Great-Grandma Sue. He was trying to wrestle with it like he sees the dogs do.

Catch is obssessed with going outside, so we took him out before breakfast. I absolutely love these two of him and my mom. He loves to pose.

*Sidenote, Catch missed his Daddy. Anytime he saw a picture of him in the house, he'd say, "Dada" and hold out his arms for him to pick him up. He broke my heart!

ONE RANDOM EVENING A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. ;0)

So I was cleaning out his closet, and found these boots that my mom bought him. Catch wore them for hours! He loved the loud sound they made as he walked.

Playing ball with Boomer. Boomer and Noodle are getting much better with Catcher. There is hope!

Noodle smelling the boots...or the diaper.

RANDOM

When we moved my mom into her new house, we didn't have anywhere to put our stuff that was on her hutch, so now Catch takes the candles and puts them on the table, then on the floor, on the table, and on the floor...And he is so proud of himself! I love his confidence.

Catch took all the toys out of the box, and decided to sit in and play. Whatever floats his boat.

CATCH'S FIRST CHUCK E. CHEESE EXPERIENCE

I was so excited to take Catch to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time. Chris had to take Catch to his 15-month check up, and I was happy to not have to experience this round of shots. :0) (By the way, the doctor said that we have a fullback on our hands. He's definitely had a growth spurt!) Back to Chuck E. Cheese, I was so happy that we were both able to take him, so we went right after I got out of school. Luckily, there were not as many people. It took him a bit to warm up. I think there were so many lights and noises, but after about 10 minutes, he was ready to run all ove the place on his own.

Not so sure what to do.

Oh yea! Chris and I tied. :0)

I guess it was more fun to climb up than slide down.

I think we had just as much fun, if not more. ;0)

Oh no! Someone decided to take over! I know I should have grabbed him instantly, but I had to get a pic first!

That's right! He already knows what to do. Any time we are anywhere, he finds the basketball, football, any kind of ball, and goes straight over to throw it.

Now the shaking of this dog...not a fan
He was ready to get off of it as soon as the shaking and music began.

He loves the phone!

FAMILY VISITS

We've had family visiting the last few weeks, and it was so nice to see everyone. I wish I had more pics, but my sister has them on her camera. I'll post them as soon as I get them.

Hanging out with Gammie and Uncle Baba.

Drinking some milk, watching a cartoon. We've taught him so well. :0)
