1st dip in the pool!

Catch had his first pool experience this past Friday night when we arrived in Kansas City. The pool was actually a little too cold, so we dipped his feet in the hot tub (it wasn't that hot). At first he didn't like it, but once we put his duckie in it and he saw that Chris was having fun, he warmed up to it (excuse the pun...). He only stayed in it for a couple of minutes, but I'm just glad he got in. Before we left, Chris dove into the pool and started swimming and it scared Catch. He started crying and kicking his feet while I held him. I think he was afraid that his daddy was hurt, so I told Chris to get out asap! :0)

It was snowy and icy the entire time we were in KC, and we were in a gym all day Saturday and Sunday. My Catcheroo was a trooper though! He was entertained by all the girls and volleyballs. And for the most part, he even did well on the way there and back. He had a few moments where he'd cry, but once we played with him, he was fine.

I'm just happy we are home safely and I have this next weekend off. :0)

A pit stop on the way to KC. Chris wanted Catch to take a pic with the horse. Catch wasn't too fond of the horsie.

Catch confused by the man on the horse.

Quick Update

Catcheroo went to the doc yesterday for his 9-month check. The best part - NO SHOTS! He weighs 21 lbs and 10 oz. and is 29" tall. The doc. said he looked good and he could start eating all the different kinds of baby food. So...I tried to give him some lasagna with veggies, but he was not a fan of the veggie chunks. He didn't know what to do; he kept thinking they were the dissolving teething tablets. He would just let them sit on his tongue. Pretty funny, but I gave up. We made his appointment for his 1-year-old check up, and that was bittersweet. I can't believe my precious is going to be a year old in 3 months! Time sure flies by when you're having fun! :0)

Catcheroo is so smart!

Gammie Brenda calls Catch, "Catch the Menace." I have to say that it fits him perfectly! He's already trying to crawl out of his crib and use the bumpers to boost himself up. We ended up taking the bumpers out and moving his music toy over by the wall so he can't use it to climb out. He's also figured out how to crawl up the small stairs in our living room to wander into the dining room and kitchen. He's such a curious little thing. We've been trying to get him to clap for the past couple of months and now he can't seem to stop. Anytime he sees someone clapping, he claps with them, whether it is a real person or on tv. He even claps when you say the word clap. Maybe that's normal, but I just think he's exceptionally smart. :0) We've been trying to get him to wave and he's starting to get the hang of it. He'll raise his arms and move his fingers as if he's trying to wave. It won't be long! Now, I'm even teaching him how to blow kisses. Right now, he just smiles and thinks I'm being silly.

Catch's great aunt and uncle bought him a little toy that he can ride and adjust to hold onto while standing. He sits on it and pushes himself backwards. It's funny that he doesn't go forward on it. I adjusted it so he could practice his walking. I held onto it so he couldn't go too fast. I was amazed at how balanced he was with a little help. Chris and I are just in awe of how fast he is growing.

Before we know it, he'll be walking and talking. And hopefully saying Mama! :0)
