Happy Halloween!

So, I wrote this post over a month ago, but I'm just now posting it. Oops...

Catch's Halloween turned out alright, but due to sicknesses, volleyball, and work, we didn't get to do all the fun Halloween activities that we wanted to do.

The Friday before Halloween, Catch had his first class party! We got Catch a duck costume, but he wasn't a fan of it, so Gammie Brenda saved the day and found him a baseball outfit for school. He looked so big!

On Saturday night, we put Catch in his duck costume, but he instantly cried. I realized that I should have planned this better, and gotten something that wouldn't be hot and itchy. I tried to put the costume on him a few minutes later, but he ran the other way crying. So, we decided we'd just take it with us to show Nana and Papa the costume that he would have worn. Luckily, when we got there they had a monster trick-or-treat bag (something else I forgot to get Catch). It was full of fruit, Goldfish crackers, and toys. He loved it! He must have been in a good mood, because when Nana asked him to put on the duck costume, he nodded his head yes. We managed to take him to 5 houses, before he complained about the costume. I wish you all could have seen him at that first house. He was so confused as to what we were doing! By the third house, he had it down, and was actually walking up to the houses. It was a fun taste of what's to come in the future. Although I have a feeling he won't like me taking his candy. :0)

Catch loved his Frankenstein bag from Nana and Papa.

We didn't think he'd put the duck outfit on since he threw a fit at our house earlier, but he did!

First house! He didn't quite know what to think of it.

Loving all the candy he was getting.

He was ready to walk up to the door by the 3rd house.

Man on a mission! We went to 5 houses - that's all he could take of the duck outfit.

We saw Gammie the next morning and put the costume on for her. :0)

He loves his blankies.

Catch in his bad boy outfit. He is too cute!

First try with the duck costume. Not a big fan...

Catch's First Hair Cut

Before heading off to the barber, we stopped by Papa's shop for our Saturday morning donuts. Catch always loves playing with Papa; of course, Papa's the one that gives him all the donut holes he wants. :0)
Papa and Catch

Eating donut holes. Go figure.

Stuffing his face. I'm not sure he even chews it.

All gone!
Snip-Its. Such a cool place!
Taking one last look at his hair.

Waiting for his turn. Oh, how I miss his long hair. But after he was continually referred to as a beautiful, little girl, I realized it was way past time.

He was not a fan of the cape.

The animal crackers got rid of the crying quick. :0)

Nana and Papa trying to keep him occupied while she started.

My turn.

This was a family event - both parents and grandmas.

Food heals all for this little one.

The first cut. I'm not going to lie - I was not that happy about it.

Shaggy bangs are gone! :0(
Time for the razor. She let him feel the vibration on his arm first. It tickled of course, so he thought it was fun.
Almost finished...

All done! My sweet boy looks so different!

He's such a trooper!

Getting his prize - you know he loved that.

This is the first time in a long time that I've seen his ears.

Giving Nana kisses bye.

What a cute pic of Catch with his Gammie and Nana.

All in all, I think it went really well. Actually, I think Chris and I took it harder than Catch. After a couple of hours, I really regretted cutting it. His hair reminded me of Jim Carrey from Dumb and Dumber. I was so mad at myself! Luckily, it's been a couple of weeks since this and it's grown out a little. Now it's perfect. :0)

The Rollercoaster Ride

You know that common expression, "Life is like a rollercoaster"? Well, let's just rephrase this - Life with a toddler is a rollercoaster. Now don't get me wrong, I love it, but sometimes I feel so helpless. Catcher started daycare again in mid-August and he was in the 1-year-old room. If you know our lil man, you know that he is one smart ball of energy with a little of his mom and dad's stubborness. He was being put in time out quite often, and finally they started putting him the 2-year-old room a little. Man, did he flourish! He was having so much fun and not getting into trouble, thanks to one of his favorite teachers, Brittany Morrow. Last week, he started teething again and couldn't stop whining. As well as that, he fell and got a big knot on his head, and bit a little girl on the cheek. They said he wasn't trying to be mean, and I honestly think he was biting because his teeth hurt. (He's done that to us a couple of times). Maybe, it's just the 2-year-old behavior hitting him a little early. :@ Thankfully, he's been whining a little less every day this week. Here's hoping for more laughs and less crying!

OU Party with Papa and Nana

Looks like they've all lost their minds!

Watch out! If you lie down, Catch thinks you're an extension of the floor.

Half time! Catch already knows the sounds of airplanes, so anytime he hears them, he points up.

Ready! Hut!

Catch thought this was the coolest thing ever!

He didn't want Chris to take him down.

How precious does he look?! Go Yankees!

Catch loves his potty seat, but not for that reason. He finds it entertaining to put his toys and sippy cups in there. Maybe one day...

And now we use it as a booster seat so he can sit with us. Such a big boy!

Classic Catch! He loves to play.

At the ball park watching Daddy.

One day they'll be playing together. :0)

Cousin J with Catch and Chris.

Leaving the ballpark, but guess what Catch saw?!

Catch heard some people clapping in the stands, so he joined in, of course!

Visiting Gammie. He gets so happy when he gets to sit like a big boy. He kept eating Cheerios. I'm pretty sure he had about 3 bowl fulls I don't know how he eats that much!

I really don't think it's gets any cuter.
GUESS WHAT CATCH IS DOING NOW!
  1. He points to the pantry now, because that's where the Cheez-Its and Cheerios are.
  2. When I ask him to go get his milk, he knows where he left it, and brings it back to the table.
  3. When he bumps something or I cut his nails too short, he says, "Ow." Chris and I couldn't help but giggle the first time he said it.
  4. When he hears a plane, he always points up to find it.
  5. He sleeps on a cot at daycare! How can he be that big already?!
  6. He waves hi and bye to everyone - like a real wave! Of course, he still blows kisses and says bye.
  7. When we tell him to be Sweet Catch, he gives us a hug.
  8. When I talk to him, it really does seem like he understands me. :0)
  9. He's still eating bananas. When we go to the grocery store we have to sneak the bananas into the cart. Is this normal?! ;0)
  10. He loves for Daddy to brush his teeth.
  11. He sleeps with his security blankie. When we ask him if he's ready for nite nite, he smiles, nods his head yes, grabs his blankie, and walks to his crib.
  12. Anytime he sees a dog or cat, he lies his head on them (that's his version of a hug).

Many more to come!
