Rashes and Reconstruction

SO...Our baby boy has a rash! He started to get some bumps, and I thought it was a food allergy, but it gradually got worse. Luckily, he hasn't been itchy or bothersome. I took him to Dr. Bob today and got some cream. Let's hope it clears up soon.

In between taking Catch to the doctor, playing with him, and trying to keep up with him, we are redoing our bathroom and getting our roof repaired. We had the insurance inspector, roofer, and Frank (doing our bathroom) all at our house at 8 am. Whoo! That's a busy morning. The inspector is sending out someone to look at a spot of mold in our bathroom. I really hope it's nothing too serious. He also totalled our roof, and gave us money to get our gutters replaced, window screens, and new wallpaper in our bathroom (which we're going tear down and paint). Although this is stressful on us and our budget, it's going to feel so good to have these new additions to our home. It makes me want to work harder so we can make more changes!

The 2nd day with his rash - looking worse. But, he's got his volleyball shirt on in honor of my first sand volleyball session. BTW - it went really well!

I came home after 2 hours and the shower and carpet were already gone! Now, that's what I call work.

The beginning of the renovations. Exciting!
Our shower. It's going to be so much bigger!

DINNER TIME! Enjoy the pics. Catch was hilarious! As soon as I pulled out the camera, he did some major cheesing.

I told him to smile, and this is how he responded.

Again, I told him to smile.

And again...

Now he wanted the camera. You'll notice all the corn on his bib. I would give it to him, but then he'd just spit it right out.

Look at these smoldering eyes. ;0)

Break for milk.

Practicing with his fork. He's getting better with using it.

End Result. I think he wore more than he ate.

Zoo Week!

When I say zoo week, I don't just mean a trip to the zoo; I mean it has been a zoo at the Manley residence. Adjusting to summer schedule has been a little difficult. Catcheroo is finally getting a normal sleep routine, although he now wakes up as soon as we lay him in his crib. However, the crying is getting much shorter each night. I can't wait until the day he can put himself down to sleep peacefully. It breaks my heart every time he looks at me like I've hurt his feelings. I know I'm doing the right thing for him and us, but I can't help but feel like a mean mom every night. One positive is that he has slept through the night for the last week!

We've also come to the time that our shower has to be replaced. We bought a HUD home, and this was one of the things that was way below par. Well, it's been leaking into my closet. We also have another leak in the ceiling, so we'll have to get our roof fixed. It's going to be a busy June! We have someone starting on our bathroom tomorrow, and an insurance rep coming on Wednesday. Luckily, Ted and Lisa have found us someone to help us out. Honestly, everyone needs a Ted. :0) If we don't know what to do, we just call Ted and he's got the answer. We'll be freaking out, and Ted will just be so calm about the situation and give us a solution. Thanks, Ted!

So Chris and I were discussing our finances today and how we need to watch our money this month, and what happens today? He gets a ticket while we are driving to get tile for the bathroom. He wasn't even going 10 miles over the speed limit and the undercover cop got him. Seriously?? The speed limit was 65 and he said that Chris was going 75. Not sure it was 75, but seeing how everyone on 240 drives 80+, I don't see why he couldn't get one of those people. Oh well, isn't that Murphy's Law or something like that?

On a lighter note, Catch and I went to the zoo this morning. We got there about 10 and it was still pretty cool. The animals must have been loving the weather as well, because they were all out sunbathing. This has been the best zoo trip yet. It's definitely going to be a weekly event and now I know that the early morning is the best time to go if we want to see all the animals. We left about 11:15 when it started to heat up, and I got about a good hour walk. I'll say that's a pretty good workout.

Tomorrow starts my first session of my Summer Sand Volleyball Program at Regional park. I'm really excited about it. I've had a few girls interested, and hopefully if they like it, then I can continue to build on it each summer. This could be a great way to make some extra cash. We could use it right now!

Got a few funny pics. Enjoy!

As soon as we got him out of the bath, he crawled up here. I guess he wanted to air dry.

hehehe...what a cute tush!

Well, at least we know he's not shy. This one's going in his wedding montage. ;0)

Looking for tile on Saturday. It was a hot day, so Catch has his water bottle. He's getting too big!

Stopped for gas, so Chris played peek-a-boo to pass the time.

Pooped out after a long day. Notice that he doesn't use his pacifier like most babies.

Chris was supposed to be playing with Catch. Instead, he took a 45-minute nap on a pillow under Catch's crib. That's where Catch likes to play.

Crazy Daddy riding Catch's tricycle. Catch couldn't stop laughing.
ZOO TRIP!

I forget, but this was one of the small cats. It looked so sweet, but not sure I'd want to meet it outside.

The gorillas were cracking me up!

Play time!

That's one big gorilla!

This is where the big gorilla walked to. He looked like he was living a pretty hard life.

Wild hog taking a nap.

Finally got to see the giraffes, and they were all out! I didn't know giraffes, zebras, and ostriches got along so well.

Zebras are so pretty.

You can tell by the tail that the giraffe was peeing. hehehe...

Cheetahs!!!!!

Some type of wild African dogs. They were tearing up dead animals of some sort. Pretty creepy.

He was so tired after the zoo that he didn't even need his pacifier to go to sleep.
