For the past 3 or so weeks, Catch has been struggling with an ear infection and chest congestion. His chest congestion cleared up about a week ago, but his ear infection is still bothering. I took him to the doctor yesterday and got him a new medicine. We'll go back in 10 days and if it's not better, than we'll have to have a more serious talk about tubes and such. Yuck! Here's hoping to the new meds working.
On a brighter side, Catch is officially crawling and it is adorable. Today, Chris brought him to our bathroom to take a bath. He sat him at the door and Catch crawled to the step that leads to our tub, reached up to put his hands on the edge of the tub, and stepped up to the tub. Then he turned to me and grinned like he knew what he just did was a big deal. It was shocking and amazing. I can't believe that he is already doing all that. He LOVES standing up.
You know how people always talk about letting a baby cry it out? Well, we can't exactly do that. Once Catch realizes he's not sleepy, he just stands up at the end of the crib that faces the door and just cries for one of us. He is so pitiful. Luckily, he's been sleeping through the night, so he only does that in the mornings. He's a biggun and I don't think he'll be slowing down any time soon. My mom put him a pair of size 5 shoes today! He's got skis for feet! Sidenote, when I took him to the doc on the 11th, he weight 19 lb. 16 oz, and now on the 27th, he weighed 21 lbs and 2 oz. He's growing like a weed!
I've said this before, but Catch loves his music. When I put on his lullaby cd, it's instant sleepy time. When I sing "Eensy Weensy Spider," he giggles. Now his new favorite song is "Pat-a-cake." I think that's how you spell it. Anyhow, he loves it. He starts giggling and clapping his hands. This is the first thing that he's started doing when we say it or do it. I just feel so blessed watching him learn new things.
